Circa late 1860s to 1870s
Originally developed by Dr Poland in NH and was later licensed for sale by
other proprietors.
During the 1860s it was sold by Dr George W Swett in Boston Mass.
Swett succeeded Wm Johnson.

The earliest Dr Poland bottles were amber bottles made at
the famous Stoddard glass works in NH.
Dr Poland invented a number of patent medicines including his Humor Doctor
and Headache Killer.
The example shown here is an early larger size bottle with a crude flat
lip. Possibly made in Lyndeboro Glassworks.
