This was a quack medicine which based its curative value on a secret method of super-saturating water with iodine. The use of iodine in medicine was well known at that time. This product played on ignorance of the true uses of iodine and sold this useless solution as a wonder cure.

An interesting bottle with an embossed sun on the front. They had ground glass stoppers instead of corks.
